Local Outreach
We focus the majority of local outreach work in support of the Sandy Springs Community Action Center (CAC). Our support includes budgeted donations, food drives throughout the year, and support for "The Vintage Affair"each year. In February each year COSA hosts a "Souper Bowl" food drive to collect hundreds of yards of food, and in September COSA hosts the "Ton of Food" drive for CAC.
In addition, we specifically support a number of the CAC’s campaigns for children, including Adopt a Child for Christmas, Summer Campaign for Kids, and the School Supplies drive.
Each month, members go downtown to assist in serving breakfast to the homeless at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. On winter Saturdays, COSA members assist the homeless at "Church on the Street" in downtown Atlanta.
Our outwardly-focused members participate individually and collectively in many other local community activities and missions.
We are blessed with a large and flexible facility and we consider sharing that space as part of our local outreach:
- Clay White LLC runs a year long program for autistic children that meets at the church every Saturday as well as putting on a summer camp each year for autistic Children.
- Tabula Rasa is one of the area’s few international language immersion schools, featuring French, Spanish and English.
